The Sofitel Metropole Heritage Wing Re-opens:
The re-opening ceremony took place on 8 March. After a 21-month refurbishment project, the Heritage Wing now ‘boasts a blend of traditional aesthetics with modern comforts and technology’. Maintaining its historical charm, the wing features upgraded bathrooms, a mix of vintage and bespoke furnishings as well as smart technology in all rooms plus club benefits from Grand Luxury rooms.
Japanese Bridge renovation extended:
The Hoi An Center for Cultural Heritage Management and Preservation has informed us that renovation work on the Japanese Bridge will be extended again, expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
Kien Trung Palace in Hue reopens:
Located within the former Royal Citadel, it has been restored and reopened to visitors. The palace sits at the northernmost edge of the Forbidden City, adding to the historical significance of the complex for visitors to admire.
Airline / Flight routes:
Starting in October 2024, Vietnam Airlines will open direct flights between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Munich.
There will be two flights per week departing from Hanoi on Friday and Sunday & from Munich on Mondays and Saturdays. From Ho Chi Minh City, there is one weekly flight departing on Mondays and returning from Munich on Tuesdays. The airlines will add one more flight on Wednesday to the route from 2 December 2024.
These flights will be operated using environmentally friendly Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft.
